Electrolytes are lost when a horse sweats.
The need for an electrolyte supplement increases when work, stress
and heat are added to your horse’s daily routine. The more
your horse sweats, the more your horse needs Exer-Lyte™.
Dehydrated horses have a reduced thirst response.
They typically will not drink water containing electrolytes. You
can restore the thirst response and encourage water intake by top
dressing your horse’s feed with Exer-Lyte™.
Exer-Lyte™ is designed to naturally replenish
valuable electrolytes lost during exercise, work, stress, endurance
and performance. Exer-Lyte™ consists of 25% sodium, twice
as much chloride and a little less potassium than sodium as recommended
by experts. The remaining nutrient make up consists of magnesium
and calcium. Our new and improved formula now contains Dextrose
which aids in the utilization of the essential electrolytes.
Horses that are fed balanced diets and are not under
work stress conditions generally do not require electrolyte supplementation.
They meet their needs naturally. Sodium is the exception and all
horses, regardless of working conditions, should be fed free-choice
salt. Avoid feeding more than one mineral supplement to minimize
potential mineral interactions. |
Don’t deprive
your horse of
essential electrolytes and minerals.
